CEE 526 Physical Fitness Testing, Evaluation, and Reporting

Course overview

Overall health and physical performance can be measured using various techniques. In particular, tests that measure sports skills and physical performance can be used to identify the health status of individuals at any age. Results from these tests can help classify large groups of individuals to assist in the creation of physical activity centers as well as assist in the development of health and nutrition plans.

Understanding how to interpret the results of performance tests using statistical procedures will assist coaches and physical educators in the development of new programs. In addition, having the knowledge to administer and report performance tests allows for immediate feedback on the success of an exercise and nutrition program.

Coaches and physical educators can use the tools learned from this course to assess the health status of students and athletes as well as prescribe training programs to improve overall health and physical performance.

Physical performance and health are closely related. Someone with exceptional physical performance test scores will most likely live a long and healthy life. By measuring physical performance one can truly learn how to improve their overall health and even become a better athlete.

This course will focus on the measurement techniques used to test physical performance.
